Open your voting machine with a minibar key

Engadget continues to dig up the dirt on Deibold. This time it turns out that the lock on one of their popular machines can be opened with a generic key used for office furniture, stereo equipment and minibars.
It’s good to know their hardware security is on par with their software vulnerabilities.

I’m starting to wonder if it might be a good idea for Deibold to hire Brownie to tackle these issues. He couldn’t do any worse than whoever’s in charge of this mess already.

I think elections should be run by wrestling matches. Shit, if I’m going to watch a fraudulent election occur, at least make it entertaining. Have Dennis Kucinich run for president against Jessy “The Body” Ventura. That would be a great (although quick) match.

The results would be just as shitty, and the people would get nothing out of it… much like our current system.

Matt, are you in touch with the great voting scam muckraker Greg Palast of BBC? You two should conspire if you’re not already. Peas in a pod. Or is it chads hung out to dry? Anyhoo. Keep up the watchdogging!

Honey, don’t just be a fan, get in contact with the man!

As you can see from Anatorious’s blog, contacts are everything. I have made friends with folks that made me shudder in amazement, just by being sincerely interested in their work. Do it already!!

  6. [...] So what does everyone else think? Is this going to make any difference in 40-odd days ’til the we go to the unsecured, malfunctioning, electronic voting machines? [...]
